Our Story

Russell and Dan teamed up in 2022 with a clear purpose in mind: to create healthier pets and happier vets.

CEO Russell is a vet with over 25 years’ experience - he’s seen it all, from hamsters to elephants, kidneys to cataracts, and knows the industry’s challenges inside out.

And co-founder Dan’s an entrepreneur who became a dog dad, saw old school vet care up close, and knew there had to be a better way.

Vets go into this work because they care deeply, but the industry has let them down.

Changes in clinic ownership have stripped autonomy from vet teams on the ground. Many feel unsupported and burned out - even walking away from the profession.

Pet parents feel it too. Familiar faces disappear, appointments are harder to get, and visits feel rushed or impersonal - adding stress when reassurance is needed most.

All of this changes when vet teams are led and supported by people who truly understand the profession. That’s why Creature Comforts is run by vets.

We set out to rebuild the vet experience from the ground up.

Instead of only visiting when something is already up with your pet, what if you were a member of a clinic where everyone knew your pet’s name, no question was too small, and your vet team were a familiar, everyday support?

With capped member numbers to guarantee your pet the attention they deserve?

Care becomes proactive, not reactive - for better health for pets, and peace of mind for pet parents.

More than a vet clinic

You’re not just a customer - you’re part of our community.

We host everything from pet first aid and CPR workshops, to pamper sessions for you and your pet, to crafting masterclasses.

We’re all about helping pet parents learn, find support, and have fun.

It’s been an incredible journey so far...

We’ve opened a growing family of Creature Comforts clinics across London and St Albans, with more on the horizon. We’re proud to have over 1000 5-star reviews - and counting! Our customer and team satisfaction scores (NPS) are both 95%, well above industry averages - showing that our vets and nurses feel just as supported as our members.

Nadia, Harley's human

My puppy didn't even think he was at the vet - treats, balls and cuddles in abundance. A wonderful team of vets.

Eva, Ayla's human

Ayla used to be absolutely terrified of vet visits. Now? She can't wait to go in!

Lindsay, Louis's human

The staff are so friendly, helpful, and clearly love what they do. Louis practically drags us there!

Jo, Bertie & Bonnie's human

They go above and beyond on every level of compassion and care. My dogs drag me to the door, whether we have an appointment or not!

As we grow, we’re staying true to our mission

Everyone on the team is an owner, either through personal investment or share options - something almost unheard of in the vet world. It means we’re all in this together, with a real shared commitment.

Russell and Dan remain our major shareholders, funding Creature Comforts with their own money, investment from family, friends and members of the team, plus support from carefully chosen investors who share our vision.

Looking ahead

We’re excited to open more clinics across the UK, bringing a better vet experience to even more pet parents.

This’ll mean more clinics for members to drop into whenever they need, more brilliant vets with diverse specialisms, and exciting future services like overnight care - all while helping us keep costs fair.

To help us grow, we’ll bring in investment partners who believe in what we’re building, while staying true to our founding principles. We’ll remain vet-led, powered by a team with a real stake in what we do, and focused on creating healthier pets and happier vets.
